Turn of the millenium punk is revived in the hands of Peanut Butter Sunday, an Acadian band from la Baie Sainte-Marie, Nova Scotia. Inspired by several key punk, emo and post-hardcore bands (Thursday, Blink 182, Saves The Day), the quartet multiplies the effectiveness of their melodic phrases with earworm hooks and memorable riffs.
Their first album, Quoi-ce y'a pour souper? acts as an official introduction to Peanut Butter Sunday. "Vraiment un uplifting hello," the 4-song EP is wrapped in a snarling punk attitude and unapologetic self-awareness while maintaining a distinct undercurrent of humour and fun.
