A revelation of the new guard of Quebec rap, LaF is a Montreal collective that brings together three rappers with very distinct voices, as well as three rhythmic composers. The group has been touring the city's concert halls as a quartet since 2015, and distinguished itself in 2018 by winning the Francouvertes. This success immediately opened the doors to some of their city’s most prestigious festivals: Osheaga, Festival d'été de Québec, Francos de Montréal.
After several releases (Monsieur-Madame, Jello, Hôtel Délices), LaF reached artistic maturity with Citadelle, released in the fall of 2019. Unanimously acclaimed by the media, this hip-hop album with soul, jazz and sometimes pop sounds offers lyrics resolutely anchored in emotionality. Following the launch of this opus to a sold-out crowd at the Fairmount Theatre in Montreal, the band successfully set out to conquer the province's stages. Despite the pandemic atmosphere, the fall of 2020 saw the release of the EP Soin entreprise, which allowed LaF to return to more refined and minimalist compositions without giving in to simplicity.
