Slim Tony is an emerging artist from Baie-Saint-Paul, in Charlevoix. A fan of rap and hip-hop culture since his early teens, he attended his first Quebec rap show in 2016 at a performance by Koriass and Brown Family. Previously swearing by English rap, he began listening to Quebec and French rap while living in the United States to stay connected to his native language. At the same time, he started to write for therapeutic purposes and then developed a taste for it and did it more assiduously.
He launched his first single in July 2021, followed by his first EP, Produit du terroir, in September of the same year. This project is a nod to the authenticity of a genuine local product and a tribute to the beautiful Charlevoix region. He starts 2022 with a bang with the release of Mets ton poncho, a track written on an old school instrumental, a sound he fell in love with when he was introduced to Hip Hop. He continues in the same direction with VINCE PAPALE, first single of his future project to be released in 2023.
He is inspired by his daily life and great artists he admires such as Nas, Jay-Z, Notorious B.I.G., Loud, Freddie Gibbs, Lary Kidd and Manu Militari.
